Vision, Mission and Values
Vision
The vision for Progressive Education is a world where everyone is able to live a purposeful, fulfilling life from birth, childhood, to adolescence and throughout adulthood.
We therefore envisage an education system which puts mental health and wellbeing, human rights, social justice and 21st century life skills at the core – alongside academics – for a fairer and sustainable planet.
Mission
We work towards our vision in the following ways:
- Raising awareness of alternatives to conventional schooling and campaigns for change, through social media, events, a new course (coming soon!) and an online global directory of schools/learning communities, jobs and events.
- Supporting the growth and sustainability of alternatives to mainstream schooling through our membership for start-up schools and learning communities (in collaboration with Limitless).
- Providing networking opportunities and resource-sharing through our Progressive Education Group on Facebook.
Values

Fairness – Promoting justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in education, and through our own actions and communications.
Learning – Advocating for the nurture of lifelong learning as a goal for education; learning from (and alongside) our communities; as well as a commitment to continued professional development in all of the above areas.
