Event Title:

YouthxYouth's Annual Learning Festival

Event Type:

Learning Journey

Our 4th annual YxY Learning Festival is gathering on January 26th, 27th, and 28th, 2024! This 3-day youth-led learning journey invites education activists and allies of ALL ages to engage in sensemaking, radical reimagination, and collective action around the guiding learning question: "How do we need to learn, live, and weave together to create the world of our deepest longings?".

Each day begins at 1pm UTC with our small group Cafés, with the main learning journey beginning at 2pm UTC each day and continuing for around 5 hours each day. The annual gathering, designed by young people for young people and adult allies, serves as a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration towards education transformation. The Learning Festival is committed to fostering a sense of belonging, learning, and co-action among all who engage and co-create.

We follow our YouthxYouth pedagogy for the three days, guided by key learning questions:

Day 1 - What Is: Broadening our ways of understanding and knowing to enable transformation (Ways of learning)

Day 2 - What If: Embodying the world we long for now (Ways of living)

Day 3 -  What Now: Connecting and weaving planetary support (Ways of weaving)

Cafés are small group experiences where we gather to go on a curated learning journey. They are a microcosm of the festival and allow for more intimacy, trust and beauty!

We are leaning more and more into creating brave spaces for all ages to have the necessary conversations around education transformation. So, this year we’ve decided to host intergenerational Cafés, hosted by  youth activists and adult allies and themed by our 8 Global Action Circle themes: Relational and Inclusive Education, Supporting Youth Educators, Climate and Nature Education, Gender Education, Peace Education, Community based Learning, Technology and Education, Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing!
