Description

Join our team!
Are you passionate about different ways of educating young people?

We are looking for paid and volunteer facilitators who want to make a genuine difference to young people (aged 5-16) who have chosen a different approach to learning. This includes lifelong home educators, neurodiverse young people, and those who haven’t thrived in mainstream education.

Why join us?

  • We provide well-established, tried-and-tested training that will deepen your understanding of self-directed education. You'll have the opportunity to access support from experts and connect with other settings worldwide. This is an opportunity to expand your knowledge and be at the forefront of progressive education.
  • Every day, you'll make a tangible difference to young people. You'll witness firsthand how trust, self-direction and collaboration transform our relationship with ourselves, with learning and with each other.
We're an Ofsted-registered childcare provider with a strong reputation in the home education community. We're continually growing and expanding how we support families, and you'll be part of that journey.
Join a team with backgrounds in teaching, mentoring, and therapeutic practice. We work collaboratively, support each other's growth, and share a genuine commitment to this model of education.

What we're looking for:

  • Passion for self-directed learning and desire to learn more
    Experience working with young people
High emotional intelligence and ability to self regulate
Alignment with our values of trust, collaboration and freedom
Willingness to grow and reflect on your practice

Paid role: 2-3 days per week (Tue-Thu, 9am-5pm) | £125 per day | Self-employed | Term-time only | Potential for role to expand and develop as you settle into the project

If you're ready to be part of something truly different and expand your understanding of education, we'd love to hear from you.

Recruitment process:
Information evening: Monday 12th January 2026, on zoom, 7.00 - 8.00 pm. This is an optional evening giving you a chance to find out more about the role and ask any questions. Please contact us below to register for this event and we will send you a link nearer the time.

Application deadline: Friday 23rd January

Alignment meetings (interviews): Friday 30th January or Monday 2nd February

Trial day: 12th, 14th, 17th or 19th February

Start date in March or April

How to apply
Send your CV and ‘cover letter’ (please see below) to admin@ourgreenhouse.org indicating if you are interested in a paid or volunteer role (or both).
Please include references with your CV.

We would like your cover letter to take the form of a reflective and creative piece in a format of your choice, for example a written email, voice-recording, storyboard or arts-based representation, or something else. We would like to know more about you, your interests and your experiences of education that have brought you to apply for this role. We would also like to know what you think you will bring to the community.  There is no one right way to do this. We would love to receive something that gives us an idea of who you are, and what you value.
